Gasoline-powered appliances:
The U.S. Coast Guard has amended the Certificates of
Inspection for the Islander and the Pied Piper:
'Vessel is authorized to carry up to ten (10) small
gasoline-powered appliances.' These appliances,
such as lawn mowers and chain saws, may be stored on
the exterior bow of the Pied Piper and on the
exterior stern of the Islander. The required fire
extinguishers have been installed immediately
adjacent to these areas on each vessel. Please
notify the crew when you are boarding if you are
transporting gasoline-powered appliances. This
amendment to our COI does not include gas cans.
***Please note: CTC buses cannot transport
gasoline, propane or vehicle batteries per order of
the Maine Department of Transportation
Safety comes first:
CTC cannot land the boat if there is anyone standing
on the float. For safety's sake, please wait for
the boat to be completely tied up and passengers
disembarked before going down the ramp on both the
Chebeague Island side and the Cousins Island side.
